This project is a conceptual album based on an original short story. This is a project done by my colleague and myself in the same trimester. The title of our concept album is “Whose money is it anyway?” It is defined as “collection of songs written around one central theme or idea. Usually, each individual track expresses a different aspect or part of the main concept, with each track fitting together to form a cohesive idea. This album is based on a moral, ‘Money can not buy happiness’. It has around 7 tracks, each having different genres.

Whose money is it anyway?

A money minded rich man gets robbed by a thief. The thief gets chased by the rich man and while running away, they get hit by a truck and die. They both become spirits and meet each other. Looking at the chaos caused by the money they realize, relationships and life is more important than money.

Synopsis

Prologue - Acoustic Instrumental

There is no sense of timing as there is no percussion used. It's having a little dark vibe introducing us to the complex minded characters.

Lush Life - Jazz, Reggae, Blues, Funk

This song is an introduction to a character namely, Frank. Frank is a money minded rich business man. He thinks no, he is sure that he can buy anything he wants from money. The song is an instance from his life which is more like  routine to him. He drives expensive cars and picks up women. The song ends with the girl agreeing and them ending up in a club.

Stolen Misery - Rap, House

This song takes place in a club when we meet our second character named Casey. Casey is a thief and is at the club to take a break from all the problems and complications in his life. Though he ends spending time thinking about his problems, his rage against the riches. The song ends with knowing all about the character, his current and his situation in general.

The Last Hunt - Drum N Bass

This song brings together both Frank and Casey coincidentally. Casey bumps into Frank and steals his wallet. Even though the money in the wallet wasn't his concern, but it hurt his ego that he was robbed by a petty man lead to a foot chase. This song clears that both sides of the society don't like each other, Casey representing the poor and Frank representing all the rich people in the world. That song ends with both dying in an accident.

Golden Gate Of Greed - Rock

This song is an aftermath, when they realise the true value of losing out in so many things. Instead they had spent all their life and died for money which didn't give any purpose of their existence and couldn't use the money now, even if they wanted to.

Capital M - Rock

This sogn personifies money into an arrogant and a self-centred woman. This is also an introduction to the characters but from money point on view as she generalises the characters to 'Men'. She talks about the human race being totally under control; Casey and Frank being one of them.

Epilogue - Acoustic Instrumental

All the instruments are the same but the music makes you feel more satisfied as the complications are over and the characters have learnt their lessons inspire of their deaths. The composition is inspiring, relieving and more peaceful than the prologue.
